Alaskan Residents from Communities at Risk Visit Coastal Louisiana Communities: (May 23-30, 2010)
Coastal Louisiana communities of Grand Bayou, Dulac, Isle de Jean Charles, Pointe aux Chenes and Jean Lafitte will be among those who host a delegation of Alaskan community leaders during the last week of May. The residents and the visitors will share common concerns about coastal land loss and the impact on community ecosystems of oil contamination. All will participate in the conference hosted by the LSU Center for Natural Resource Economics and Policy, Thursday, May 27th. The visit is being assisted by faculty and students from the University of New Orleans’ Center for Hazards Assessment, Response and Technology (UNO-CHART).To learn more about the visiting group, link to any of the following websites:
